This pheasant is comparable in size to the Red Golden and their needs are effectively the same. As noted for the Red Golden, these two species should not be kept together, since they will cross-breed. A minimum pen size of 100 ft square is recommended along with access to grass. They are very Winter hardy but given their smaller size protection from wind in snowstorms is needed.
